Guest Speaker:  Jim Hardy
Jim Hardy is best known for his original thoughts on the golf swing, theories born from near 50 years of golf teaching experience.  His resume includes earning all-American honors at Oklahoma State University, playing on the PGA and Champions Tours, instructing and coaching over 100 Tour professionals, teaching and mentoring professional instructors and tireless research on swing mechanics.

Hardy’s accolades are impressive. He was named National PGA Teacher of the Year in 2007. He was inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in 2011 and in 2016 Jim was inducted into the World Golf Teachers Hall of Fame. He has been on the Golf Magazine Top 100 Teachers list and the Golf Digest top 50 (currently ranked #14) for more than 25 years.

His first key teaching point claims that all golf swings are either one-plane or two-plane. Hardy’s interest in the golf swing inspired years of research on this subject, on which he authored his best-selling instruction book The Plane Truth for Golfers in 2005. The book’s national and international success spawned a hugely popular DVD series and a second book, published in 2007, Plane Truth for Golfers: Master Class, which was presented as a series of lessons.

Hardy’s third book, Solid Contact, presents his unique diagnosis code using a plus/minus system, which allows golfers and instructors to correctly diagnosis faults in any swing. His fourth book, The Release, Golf's Moment of Truth was published in late Spring 2016 and Hardy considers it to be his best work. It is a total analysis of  the two very opposite full swing releases in golf and includes considerable information on the subject that has never been presented before. Through the use of over 350 photos of the world's greatest players Jim discusses how each release works, the extremely high rate of clubface closure to the path for one release and the very low rate for the other release, how to become repetitive with either release and how to find the one that works best for you. In January 2018 a video version of the The Release, Golf's Moment of Truth was released.

With his Plane Truth Golf partner, Chris O’Connell, Hardy has created an instructor certification program completed by more than 500 teachers worldwide. He has presented as a featured speaker six different times at the biannual PGA Teaching & Coaching Summit.

In the media, Hardy has been a frequent contributor for Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, and has served as color analyst for NBC and ESPN. He has taught over 100 Tour professionals on the PGA and Champions Tour including Paul Azinger, Olin Browne, Peter Jacobsen, Scott McCarron, Tom Pernice, and Duffy Waldorf among others.
