The PGA of America is the world’s largest sports organization, comprised of 28,000 men and women golf Professionals who are the recognized experts in teaching and growing the game. Founded in 1916, the PGA of America has enhanced its leadership position by conducting premier spectator events – PGA Championship, Ryder Cup, Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship – as well as significant philanthropic outreach initiatives, and award-winning golf promotions.

The Iowa Golf Association is the governing body for golf in the state of Iowa and exists as a non-profit organization that works to preserve, protect and promote the best interests and spirit of the game. As “caretakers” of the game we work to preserve the rich history of golf in our state and to provide numerous services that benefit all that play the game in Iowa.

The Mission of the Iowa Golf Course Superintendents Association is dedicated to serving members through education, research and networking to enhance the game of golf and the environment.

The Vision of the Iowa GCSA will be recognized as a professional organization offering valuable programs for its members and seen as the regional leaders in golf course management.

The Iowa Golf Council recognizes and will promote the golf industry as a significant business sector and driver of economic activity in the state of Iowa.  It will facilitate the implementation of programs and public policies designed to help grow the game of golf in Iowa. 

The G.I.V.E. Foundation was established to fund the Golf for Veterans program providing a structured golf program for injured veterans who use the Iowa City VA Medical Center. The golf program has four phases of training for injured veterans to participate in to enhance their mental, social, physical and emotional well-being; and improve their quality of life. 

The Iowa High School Athletic Association is the regulating body for male Iowa high school interscholastic athletics and is a full member of the National Federation of State High School Associations. Sports overseen by the IHSAA are baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field and wrestling.
