Vest lead Assistants Championship

Riverside, Iowa –
Round one of the National Car Rental Iowa Assistant PGA Professional Championship was contested today at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa.

Tracy Vest, Assistant PGA Golf Professional at Blue Top Ridge sits in first place with a 1-under par round of 71.  Vest made seven birdies in his round of golf but also had four bogeys and a double bogey.  Dillon Baker of Airport National GC, Jacob Bermel of Pheasant Ridge GC and Tyler Christians from the Wakonda Club were tied for second place with rounds of 1-over par 73.  Nine players sit within four shots of the lead going into tomorrow’s final round.

Baker’s round included two birdies, one bogey and one double bogey.  Bermel’s round of golf included four birdies and were offset by three bogeys and a double bogey.  Christians had an eagle, three birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey in his round of golf.

There will be one qualifier from the Championship to play in the 43rd National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship.  It will be contested on the Wanamaker Course at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida on November 14-17, 2019.

Defending Champion Davis Sutton of the Cedar Rapids Country Club is four shots back after shooting a three-over par round of 75.  For more results, click here.
