Team McCarty Wins Boy Scouts Pro-Am

Pleasant Valley, IA – Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club and his team of Ben Palmer, Pierce Lohman, John Rock and Ryan Palmer won the Boy Scouts Pro-Am Monday, September 28 at Davenport Country Club. Team McCarty turned in 58 quota points to capture the win.

Teams for Boy Scouts Pro-Am were comprised of an Iowa PGA Professional and four Boy Scouts Donors.

Team John Bermel of Pheasant Ridge Golf Course and partners Vince Lamb, Dennis VanderVinne, Craig Mowry and Steve Agey; Dillon Baker of Airport National Golf Course and his team of Nick Gabriel, Nick May, Clint Hinderracker and Josh Wheatley and Chris Black of Hickory Grove Golf Course and his team of Nathan Billany, Kendal Deter, Tate Featherstone and Eric Langan were in a three way tie for second place with 46 quota points.

In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Boy Scouts Pro-Am featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions using the Stableford scoring system.

McCarty claimed first place in the Open Division with 32 quota points. McCarty carded birdies on holes 1, 2, 8, 17 and 18 with an eagle on hole 9 including bogeys on holes 5 and 16 in route to his victory. David Lawrence of Davenport Country Club turned in 27 quota points for runner-up.

Judd Gibb of Lakeside Municipal Golf Course took home first place in the Senior Division with 25 quota points. Gibb carded birdies on holes 2, 6, 9, 12 and 13 including bogeys on holes 8 and 11 in route to his victory. Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club turned in 23 quota points to capture second place.

Larry Castagnoli, PGA Life Member won the Super Senior Division with 21 quota points. Castagnoli carded an eagle on hole 13 with a birdie on hole 9 including bogeys on holes 12, 16 and 18 in his win.
