Team Lorenz & Fowler Win Junior-Senior Draw
East Moline, Illinois –
Brian Lorenz of Spirit Hollow Golf Course and Todd Fowler of Golf Galaxy- Davenport won the Junior-Senior Draw Monday, July 26 at Short Hills Country Club. Lorenz and Fowler turned in a 12-under-par round of 32-28=60 to capture the win.
Teams for Junior-Senior Draw were comprised of two Iowa Section PGA Professionals competing in a one best ball of 2 gross.
Adam Miller of Dubuque Golf & Country Club and Bryan Luedtke of Bunker Links Golf Course turned in round of 33-30=63 to come in second place.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Junior-Senior Draw featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Lorenz claimed first place in the Open Division with an 8-under-par 64. Lorenz carded birdies on holes 1, 6, 7, 10, 13, 14, 15 and 17. Runner-up John Bermel of Pheasant Ridge Golf Course turned in 6-under-par 66.
Bermel carded birdies on holes 4, 7, 10, 13, 15, 17 and 18 including a bogey on hole 5 to claim first place in the Senior Division. Runner-up Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course turned in 4-under par 68.
Terry Anderson of Elks Country Club won the Super Senior Division with a 2-over-par 74. Anderson carded birdies on holes 11 and 15; bogeys on holes 3 and 8 including a double bogey on hole 12. Runner-up Mike Hall of St. Andrews Golf Course turned in 16-over-par 88.
