Sutton & Baker win Pro-Pro #1 at Lake Panorama
Panora, IA –
Davis Sutton of Cedar Rapids CC and Dillon Baker of Airport National GC won the Team portion of Pro-Pro #1 on Monday, June 1 at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora, IA. Their team score was four-under par 68 to capture the win.
Teams for Pro-Pro #1 were comprised of two Iowa PGA Professionals competing in an 18-Hole, one best ball of two format.
Sutton and Baker carded birdies on holes 1 and 2 to make the turn at two-under par 34. Their back nine included 4 birdies and 2 bogeys to finish at four-under par 68.
Runner up in the Team Division
was Sean McCarty of Brown Deer GC and Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer GC, they carded a front 9 of two-over par 38 that included 2 birdies, 2 bogeys and 1 double bogey. They rallied on the back 9 with a round of five-under par 31 that included an eagle on hole 10 followed by birdies on holes 11, 15 and 17 to fire a round of three-under par 69.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Pro-Pro #1 featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Sutton and Ty Stewart of Hyperion Field Club tied for first place in the Open Division
with a round of one-over par 73. Sutton’s round included 4 birdies and 5 bogeys. Stewart’s round included 3 birdies and 4 bogeys. Solo third place went to Aaron Krueger of Wakonda Club with a round of three-over par 75.
John Dinnebier of Briarwood GC took home first place in the Senior Division
with a one-over-par 73. Dinnebier recorded 4 birdies and 5 bogeys. Jeff Smith of Harvest Point GC finished in solo second with a two-over par 74. Tied for third place shooting rounds of four-over par 76 were John Bermel of Pheasant Ridge GC and Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Municipal GC.
Smith’s round of two-over par 74 placed him in first place in the Super Senior Division
. Jim Henry of EK Golf recorded a five-over par 77 to finish in second place.
