Strieck Elected President of the Iowa PGA Section
Riverside, Iowa – Erin Strieck, PGA Head Golf Professional at the Pinnacle Country Club in Milan, Illinois was elected as President at the Iowa PGA Annual Fall Meeting and Merchandise Show along with the All-Star Pro Golf Awards Luncheon held at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort on October 19, 2021.
Strieck is the first female to be elected President in the Iowa PGA Section. She will also serve as the Iowa PGA Foundation President during her two-year term. Strieck earned her Class A status in the PGA of America on December 08, 2001.
“To be the President of the Iowa PGA is an honor.” stated Strieck, “I am looking forward to serving the amazing members of our section and growing the game of golf in Iowa. Thank you to Aaron Krueger and Matt Sherlock for your service to our section. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve alongside with you.”
Steve Watt, PGA Director of Golf at Glen Oaks Country Club was elected as the Vice President of the Section. JR Millar, PGA Head Golf Professional was elected as the Secretary of the Iowa PGA. Both were elected to two-year term.
In the four open Board of Director seats, the following Iowa PGA Members were elected to the posts by the Iowa PGA Membership for a two-year term:
- Mike Armes, PGA Assistant Professional at Pinnacle Country Club in Milan, Illinois
- Gene Bears, Jr., PGA Head Professional at Lacoma Golf Club in East Dubuque, Illinois
- Sarah Bidney, PGA Director of Instruction at Wakonda Club, in Des Moines, Iowa.
- David Roe, PGA Director of Golf at the City of Cedar Rapids Golf Operations, Cedar Rapids, Iowa
The Iowa PGA Foundation added in three new board members at the Business Meeting:
- Lisa Miller, PGA Master Professional/Life Member from Coralville, IA (term expires in 2024)
- Steve Hutton, PGA General Manager at Geneva Golf & Country Club in Muscatine, IA (term expires in 2023)
- Richard Specht, PGA Life Member from Epworth, IA (term expires in 2022)
