Schmid & Proehl to Play in the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship

Riverside, Iowa – The Championship is over at the 32nd Senior PGA Professional Championship at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club and Chad Proehl of the Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course qualified for the 2021 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship to be held in Southern Hills Country Club, Tulsa, OK on May 25-30, 2021.

Schmid fired a final round of three-under par 69 on the Wanamaker Course that placed him in a tie for 5th place.  Schmid’s round included birdies on holes 1, 7, 8, 15 and 16 with bogeys on holes 4 and 11. Schmid secured his spot in the 2021 event with rounds of 67-67-76-69=279 for an eight-under par total.

Proehl played a final round of four-under par 68 on the Wanamaker Course that placed him in a tie for 11th place. Proehl’s final round included an eagle on hole 7, birdies on holes 4, 8, 15 and 16 with bogeys on holes 9 and 18. Proehl secured his spot in the 2021 event with rounds of 70-72-73-68=283 for a four-under par total.  This will be back-to-back year’s that Proehl and Schmid have qualified for the Senior PGA Championship.

Judd Gibb of the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course also made the cut and shot an even par round of 72 on the Wanamaker Course that placed him in tie for 39th place.  Gibb’s final round included birdies on holes 1, 2 and 12 with bogeys on holes 3, 5 and 18.

Bryan Luedtke of Bunker Links Golf Course made the 36-hole cut and shot a 6-over par with rounds of 74-72-78=224. He missed the 54-hole cut after Saturday’s round.
