Schmid Leads Iowa Senior PGA Professional Championship After Day 1-
Muscatine, Iowa – Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club leads the Iowa Senior PGA Professional Championship on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Geneva Golf & Country Club. Schmid turned in 1-under-par 70 to lead going into round two tomorrow. Final round will be completed on July 23, 2021 and first tee times start at 8:00 am tomorrow. Schmid carded birdies on holes 1, 4, 6, 14 and 16; bogeys on holes 5 and 10 including a double bogey on hole 8.
 
Runner-up John Shawver of Fore Seasons Golf Practice carded birdies on holes 8, 9 and 16 including bogeys on holes 2, 11 and 12 for an even-par 71.
 
Life Member Gale Gilbert leads the Super Senior Division with a 3-over-par 74. Gilbert carded a birdie on hole 2 including bogeys on holes 3, 10, 11 and 17. Runner-up Mike Hall of St. Andrews Golf Course carded birdies on holes 1 and 10; bogeys on holes 11, 12 and 17 including double bogeys on holes 2 and 18 for 5-over-par 76.
