Schmid Finishes T2 at PGA Tournament Series Event #3

Port St. Luice, Florida – Iowa PGA Member, Jeff Schmid finished T2 in Event #3 of the PGA Tournament Series today on the Ryder course of the PGA Golf Club. Bob Sowards birdied the final hole to secure the victory.

Schmid recorded a 4-under-par 68 in the first round of Event #3 and was tied for first entering the final round. He followed his 4-under-par first round with a 3-under-par 69 in the final round for a tournament total 7-under-par 137. Schmid marks the second Iowa PGA
Member to finish second at a PGA Tournament Series event this winter. (Chris Black Event #1).

Schmid birdied four of five holes to take the lead at 8-under going to No. 18, a 438-yard par-4. Schmid pushed his 7-iron approach into a greenside bunker and the ball plugged. Schmid made bogey to close out his round and drop one stroke.
 
Iowa PGA Member, Chris Black also competed in Event #3. Black’s first round featured a 4-over-par 76. He would respond with a 4-under-par 68 in the final round to shoot even par (144) for the tournament and finish T24.
 
The PGA Tournament Series continues December 10-11 with Event #4. The fourth event takes place on the Dye Course at the PGA Golf Club. Schmid and Black with both be participating in this event.
