Proehl, McCarty & Black Make Cut at the Winter Stroke Play Championship

Riverside, IA – Four of our Iowa PGA Professionals Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club, Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Course, Aaron Krueger of Wakonda Club and Chris Black of Hickory Hills Golf Course are competing in the Stroke Play Championship at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

In Proehl’s second round he carded birdies on holes 3, 5, 6, 7 and 15 including bogeys on holes 1, 2, 14, 17 and 18 to finish 34-38=72.  Proehl is tied for 10th place, 67-72=139 (-4) going into the third round. His tee time for Tuesday, February 9 is at 8:30 AM on the Ryder Course.

In McCarty’s second round he carded birdies on holes 1, 5, 8, 10, 13 and 16 including bogeys on holes 2 and 12 to finish 37-36=73.  He sits tied for 18th place, 73-68=141 (-2) heading into round three. His tee time for Tuesday, February 9 is at 8:20 AM on the Ryder Course.

In Black’s second round he carded birdies on holes 5, 10 and 17 including bogeys on holes 4, 7, 9 and 14 to finish 38-34=72. He sits tired for 48th place71-74=145 (E) heading into round three. His tee time for Tuesday, February 9 is at 8:20 AM on the Ryder Course.

Krueger’s second round he carded birdies on holes 3, 6 and 16; bogeys on holes 14 and 17 including double bogeys on holes 4 and 7, 42-36=78.  Krueger’s rounds of 79-78=157 were not good enough to make the second round cut.
