Proehl Finishes T4 at Senior Stroke Play Championship

Port St. Lucie, Florida – Iowa PGA Member, Chad Proehl, finished the Senior Stroke Play Championship on Tuesday at the PGA Golf Club. He finished T4 after his 3-under-par final round on the Wanamaker course.

Proehl, who started the day in eighth place, started quickly in the final round with a birdie on the first hole. He would par his next five holes before adding his second birdie of the front nine on the par-5 seventh hole. After dropping a shot on the eighth hole, Proehl birdied the ninth hole and made the turn at 2-under-par (34), 8-under-par for the tournament.

The back nine was more of the same from Proehl, who carded a bogey-free back nine. Proehl poured in another birdie on the par-5 16th hole and finished his round with back-to-back pars to shoot a 3-under-par 69 in the final round, and finish with a tournament total 9-under-par 207. Proehl finished in a tie for fourth place, seven strokes off the leaders.

In three rounds Proehl carded 13 birdies, two eagles, 32 pars, six bogeys and one double bogey. He recorded two rounds in the sixties (67, 69) on the Wanamaker course, playing the front-nine at 5-under-par and the back-nine at 4-under-par. Proehl played the par-5 16th hole on the Wanamaker course at 3-under-par for two rounds.
