McCarty Wins Iowa PGA Professional Championship-
Pleasant Valley, Iowa – Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club wins the Iowa PGA Professional Championship on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Davenport Country Club. He will lead four (4) Iowa PGA Section Professionals to compete in the 55th PGA Professional Championship, April 17-20, 2022, at OMNI Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas.
 
McCarty turned in a winning total of 68-67-71=206, 7-under-par to capture the Iowa PGA Professional Championship title. This is McCarty’s second Iowa PGA Professional Championship title having also won in 2012. Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Course was runner-up, finishing at 71-68-68=207, 6-under-par.
 
Proehl captured the Senior Division Title as well with rounds of 71-68-68=207 to sit 6-under-par. Chris Black of Hickory Grove Golf Course carded 75-65-70=210 with 3-under-par to finish runner up to Proehl.
 
The Super Senior Division was won by Jeff Smith of Harvest Point Golf Course with rounds of 79-72-72=223 for a total of 10-over-par. Jim Henry of EK Golf carded 77-79-76=232 with a 19-over-par to finish runner up.
 
McCarty is joined by Proehl, Black and Jay Giannetto of Elmwood Country Club. These four Iowa PGA Professionals will be competing in the 55th PGA Professional Championship, April 17-20, 2022, at Southern Highlands Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The alternates in order are Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club, Darin Fisher of The Preserve on Rathbun Lake, Todd Larson of Cedar Rapids Country Club and Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf.
