Iowa Teams T17, T39 in Senior-Junior Team Championship

Port St. Luice, Florida – The team of Iowa PGA Members Chad Proehl and Jay Giannetto are tied for 17th, while the team of Sean McCarty and Dave Ranney are tied for 39th heading into the third round of the PGA Senior-Junior Team Championship.

Following their 5-under-par 67 in round one, Proehl and Giannetto took on the Wanamaker course in round two. The duo combined for six birdies in round two, including two on their last three holes to shoot 4-under-par 68. After 36-holes Proehl and Giannetto’s tournament total is 9-under-par 135. They begin their third round at 11:40 a.m. (ET) on the Dye Course on Wednesday.

McCarty and Ranney started round two below the cut line, but responded well on the Ryder Course on day two. Following a 1-over-par 37 on the front nine, the duo carded a bogey-free back nine with three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 13th hole to finish the round at 4-under-par 68. McCarty and Ranney are currently right on the cutline at 6-under-par 138. They continue their tournament on the Wanamaker Course Wednesday at 8:20 a.m. (ET)

The 72-hole event is being played on the Wanamaker, Ryder and Dye courses at PGA Golf Club. The 54-hole cut to the low 40 teams and ties is projected to be 9-under.
