Gibb and Team Win Boy Scouts Pro-Am

DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Boy Scouts Pro-Am took place Monday afternoon at the Davenport Country Club. The event was 18-holes, Individual Stableford with Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions. Each team consisted of one Iowa PGA Professional and three amateurs. The Boy Scouts contributed $3,000 as sponsorship funds to the Prize Purse.

Judd Gibb and his team recorded 48 points in the round to beat out Mark Atchison’s and his team by one point. Gibb’s team made up of Kyle Pfitzenmaier, Jared Brower, Austin Blunk, and Steve Engulby. Tracy Vest and his crew finished third with 46 total points.

In addition to the team event, today’s event featured an Open Division, Senior Division and Super Senior division for Iowa PGA Professionals.

Ryan McClintock, Davenport native, ran away with the Open Division defeating the field by seven points. McClintock rattled home nine birdies to finish with 35 points in the division. Sean McCarty finished second with four birdies and an eagle Monday afternoon. Gibb finished in third place with 26 points.

Gibb carded five birdies on the day to win the Senior Division. Paul DelVecchio of Augustana College finished runner-up with Chad Proehl finishing third with 19 points.

Curt Schnell of Okoboji View GC took home the Super Senior Division, recording 18 points. Schnell beat out Jim Henry by two points.
