Gibb, Cook Win Iowa PGA Pro-Scratch/Pro-Senior Scratch

Milan, Illinois – Iowa PGA Member, Jubb Gibb and his partner Terry Cook won the Iowa PGA Pro-Scratch and Pro-Senior Scratch event at the Pinnacle Country Club in Milan, Illinois today. This event was comprised of teams of one Professional and one amateur or senior amateur competing in one best ball of two gross format.  

Gibb and Cook combined for a 7-under-par 65, carding a bogey-free round with seven birdies including two-in-a-row on Nos. 2-3, 7-8 and 17-18. Gibb and Cook out lasted the teams of Steve Hutton, PGA and Bryan Lemakau and Ben Montgomery, PGA and Kevin Ault by two strokes. 

Hutton and Lemkau recorded six birdies including three-in-a-row on Nos. 5-7. Montgomery and Ault also tallied six birdies with five straight birdies on Nos. 5-9. Both teams finished at 5-under-par 67. 

Gibb and Cook also won the Pro-Senior Scratch division, beating out Chris Black, PGA and David Wauhgh by two strokes. Black and Wauhgh carded a bogey-free round with five birdies, including two-in-a-row on Nos. 1-2 and 10-11 for a five-under-par 67.

This tournament also featured an Open, Senior and Super Senior Division for the Iowa PGA Professionals. Chad Proehl and Jeff Schmid tied for first in the Open and Senior Division at 2-under-par 70. Joe Butler won the Super Senior Division after recording a 1-over-par 73.
