Chris Black Finishes T2 in PGA Tournament Series Event #1

Port St. Lucie, Florida – Iowa PGA Member Chris Black finished T2 at the first event of the 2018 PGA Tournament Series at the PGA Golf Club over the weekend.

Chris Black of Independence Iowa was one of five players in a playoff Friday afternoon. Black, John Somers, Rod Perry, Mike Ballo and David Abolt all played the 348-yard first hole at the Dye Course at PGA Golf Club to determine the winner of the Tournament Series’ first event. Somers would make birdie on the playoff hole win to the event.

Blacked started the tournament with a 1-under-par 71 in the first round. After day one, Black sat at T7 just three-strokes off the lead. Black followed up his round one performance with a 3-under-par 69 in the second round for a tournament total 4-under-par 140, to get into the five-way playoff.

This tournament marked the first of six events in the PGA Tournament Series taking place this Winter. Event two takes place December 3-4 on the Wanamaker Course at the PGA Golf Club. Iowa PGA Member’s Chris Black and Jeff Schmid will both be competing in that event.
