Black/Fisher Win Pro-Pro #4
Peosta, IA – Team Chris Black of Hickory Grove Golf Course and Darin Fisher of The Preserve on Rathbun Lake won the Pro-Pro #4 Monday, August 3, 2020 at Timberline Golf Course. Team Black turned in a 9-under-par round of 63 to capture the win.
Teams for Pro-Pro #4 were comprised of two Iowa PGA Professionals competing in a 1 best ball of 2 Team Event.
Team Black and Fisher carded an eagle on hole 6 with birdies on holes 1, 2, 4, 8, 11, 13, 17 and 18 including a bogey on hole 15.
Runner-up Teams Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club and Jeff Schmid of Brown Deer Golf Club and Jay Giannetto of Elmwood Country Club and Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Municipal Golf Club tied for second place. They turned in 7-under-par rounds of 65.
In addition to the team event, the Iowa PGA Pro-Pro #4 featured individual competitions for the Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
McCarty and Fisher tied for first in the Open Division with a 2-under-par round of 70. McCarty carded birdies on holes 2, 3, 6, 10 and 11 including bogeys on holes with 5, 14 and 17. Fisher carded birdies on holes 1, 4, 8 and 17 with bogeys on holes 3, 5 and 15 including an eagle on hole 6 and a double bogey on hole 18.
Schmid took home first place in the Senior Division with a 1-under-par round of 71. Schmid recorded double bogeys on holes 15 and 18 with bogeys on holes 7 and 17 including birdies on holes 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11 in route to his victory. Runner-up Todd Fowler of Golf Galaxy turned in an even-par round of 72.
Joe Butler of Burlington Golf Club won the Super Senior Division with a 5-over-par round of 77. Butler had a double bogey on hole 6 with birdies on holes 2, 8 and 18 including bogeys on holes 5, 9, 13, 14, 16 and 17 in his win.
