2023 PGA Winter Championship – Senior/Junior Team Round 2-
Riverside, Iowa –Five of our Iowa PGA Professionals are paired up as teams. Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf and Darin Fisher of The Preserve on Rathbun Lake, Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Course and Jay Giannetto of Elmwood Country Club and Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club and his partner Benny Cook of Fort Pierce, Florida are competing in the Senior/Junior Team Championship at the PGA Golf Club in Pt. St. Lucie, Florida on January 30 – February 2, 2023. This is a one best ball of two Team Championship.
McCarty and Cook carded birdies on holes 2, 4, 5, 10, 11, 14, 15, 17 and 18 which placed them tied for 3rd place after the second round of play. McCarty and Cook’s two-day rounds of 64-63=127, 16-under-par. Their tee time for Wednesday, February 1 on the Wankamaker Course at 9:46 AM.
Proehl and Giannetto carded birdies on holes 4, 13, 15 and 18; an eagle on hole 17 which placed them tied to 3rd place after the second round of play. Proehl and Giannetto’s two-day rounds of 62-65=127, 16-under-par. Their tee time for Wednesday, February 1 on the Dye Course at 11:40 AM.
Gibb and Fisher carded birdies on holes 1, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 18; bogeys on holes 9, 15 and 16 which placed them tied for 13th place after the second round of play. Gibb and Fisher’s two-day rounds of 64-65=129, 14-under-par. Their tee time for Wednesday, February 1 on the Wanamaker Course at 9:24 AM.
