2023 PGA Winter Championship – Senior Stroke Play Round 1 & 2-
Riverside, Iowa – Four of our Iowa PGA Professional’s Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Course, Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf, Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club and Life Member Dave Ranney are competing in the Senior Stroke Play ages 64 & Under at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Overall Group A (64 & Under) Chad Proehl is currently T6th place, Judd Gibb is currently T16th place, Sean McCarty is currently T21st place and Dave Ranney is currently T82nd place all going into the final round of play today.
The Iowa PGA Professionals also compete within smaller age groups.
Ages 50-54 – Gibb & McCarty
Gibb’s first round he carded bogeys on holes 6, 7 and 14. Gibb’s second round he carded birdies on holes 1, 10, 13, 17 and 18 including bogeys on holes 2 and 15. Gibb’s two-day rounds of 75+68=143, E-par, currently placed T8th place going into the final round.
McCarty’s first round he carded birdies on holes 2, 5, 7, 10 and 13 including bogeys on holes 4, 6, 9, 12, 14 and 18. McCarty’s second round he carded birdies on holes 4 and 6 including bogeys on holes 12 and 17. McCarty’s two-day rounds of 73-71=144, 1-over-par, currently placed T11th place going into the final round.
Ages 55-59 – Proehl & Ranney
Proehl’s first round he carded birdies on holes 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 including bogeys on holes 8, 12, 14 and 18. Proehl’s second round he carded birdies on holes 1, 4, 13 and 14 including bogeys on holes 2, 8 and 9. Proehl’s two-day rounds of 71+70=141, 2-under-par, currently placed T3rd place going into the final round.
Ranney’s first round he carded a birdie on hole 8; bogeys on holes 2, 7, 10, 14, 17 and 18 including a double bogey on hole 4. Ranney’s second round he carded birdies on holes 5 and 13; bogeys on holes 6, 7 and 18 including double bogeys on holes 2, 4 and 12. Ranney’s two-day total rounds of 79+79=158, 15-over-par, currently placed T47th place going into the final round.
