| Player of the Year Status: Major Point Event
PRO-AM TOURNAMENT FUND MONEY IS ADDED TO THIS EVENT Format: Double elimination Match Play Championship. Golfers that lose a match are still able to win the Championship because of the Double Elimination aspect of this event. This is a Major Point Event for PGA Player of the Year, Senior PGA Player of the Year, and Apprentice PGA Player of the Year. Competitors apply points that they earn to their respective Player of the Year category. Example: If an Apprentice earns second place in the event, he/she will apply points won to the Apprentice Player of the Year standings. Iowa PGA Pro-Am Tournament Fund money will be applied to this event. Seedinigs: All players will be placed into A and B groups based on playing ability (1/2 players will be placed in A group and 1/2 players will be placed in B group). A random draw will determine seedings where an A player is matched with a B player for the first round. All matches will be coordinated between players. There will be no official site for the first two rounds of play. Rules 1. Matches must be contested in a "true" match play style of event. You are not allowed to match scorecards in a stroke play event. 2. If matches are not completed by
the dates listed on the pairings page, the Iowa Section PGA Tournament
Director will call (conference call) both golfers and flip a coin
to determine who advances. A witness must be present in the office during the flip. The
lower seed number will call either heads or tails. 4. The winner from the Consolation Bracket will face the winner of the Winners Bracket in the Championship Match. The winner of the Consolation Bracket must beat the winner of the Winners Bracket twice (two 18-hole matches) to win the Championship. Pairings will be posted at http://www.iowapga.com following deadline.
