Ashworth/SkyGolf Team Challenge

Professional Eligibility: Professionals must be in an active classification and in good standing with the PGA of America.
Deadline: April 8, 2008 at 12:00 P.M.
Entry Fee: $75

All Iowa Section PGA members, apprentices and pre-apprentices in good standing are eligible to participate. To participate, you must sign up and pay and entry fee of $75 with the Section office by Tuesday, April 8th, by 12:00 P.M. Once the deadline for sign-up has passed, the Tournament Co-Chairs (John Panek & Troy Christensen) will determine: 1) the number of teams; 2) number of players on each team; and 3) team captains. A draft will be conducted prior to the Section event at Newton Country Club on April 14th.

ELIGIBLE EVENTS
Team Challenge will be determined by an 9-tournament schedule consisting of:

April 14th – Team All Pro – Newton CC (Draft also prior to event)
May 19th - 36-Hole Classic – Oakwood CC & Pinnacle CC - SUPER EVENT DOUBLE POINTS
June 2nd – Sponsor Appreciation Tournament – Geneva G & CC
June 30th – Pro-Junior – Pheasant Ridge GC
July 28th – Pro-Lady - Sunnyside CC
August 18th – Pro-Director – Short Hills Country Club
September 15th – 36-Hole Classic – Ottumwa Country Club
September 29th – Pro-Pro – Veenker GC
October 13 – 14th – October Shootout – Bos Landen Golf Resort - SUPER EVENT DOUBLE POINTS

EARNING POINTS
Performance and Participation! Each player who plays in an event earns participation points. Tournaments are scored as normal: lowest score to highest score. Players who play in the tournament and who are not involved in the Team Bonus Pool will be removed from the Team Challenge Scoring System. Remaining players will receive points based on order of finish. Each team will count its two highest point scorers per event along with the total participation points for a team total per event. .

NOTE: INDIVIDUALS MUST COMPETE IN AT LEAST 4 EVENTS TO RECEIVE THEIR PORTION OF PRIZE MONEY AT THE END OF THE YEAR. THE

Point List:

The point list will be determined by the number of participants in each event. 25 points will be awarded to last place in the event. The point scale will increase by 5 points until the top ten is reached where the scale will increase by 10 points. Each team will count its top two individual point totals for each event. Obviously, more Team Challenge participants in each event means larger point scale. THE 36-HOLE CLASSIC AND OCTOBER SHOOTOUT WILL BE CONSIDERED ASHWORTH SKY GOLF TEAM CHALLENGE SUPER EVENTS AND POINTS AWARDED (INCLUDING PARTICIPATION POINTS) WILL BE DOUBLED.

All players who participate that do not qualify as the best three of four will receive 20 participation points.
