PGA McGladrey Team Championship – October 20-22, 2008

The 2008 National PGA McGladrey Team Championship was held on October 20-22, at Pinehurst Resort on courses #2, 4, & 8 in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Forty-one teams comprised of three amateurs and one PGA Professional first competed in a local site qualifier and then joined the host PGA Professional to form four-person teams. These four-person teams then competed at the their respected Section Championship where the winner in each Section advanced on to compete at the national finals. The format for the event was Two Best Balls of Four Net.
The team which represented the Iowa Section PGA at the national competition was from Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines, IA. Team members included PGA Director of Golf at Glen Oaks CC Ken Schall, Darin Ferguson, Collin Caffrey, and Jeff Rowe. Congratulations to the Glen Oaks Country Club team which finished in 27th place.
