2008 Iowa Section PGA McGladrey Team Championship

The 2008 Iowa Section PGA McGladrey Team Championship was held on Monday, August 4th at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville. Eighteen teams competed in the humid conditions for the chance to advance to the national finals which will be held at Pinehurst Resort, Pinehurst, N.C. October 20-22, 2008. The format for the event was Two Best Balls of Four Net.
Amateurs competing in the event qualified by advancing through a local qualifier. The host PGA Professional of the local tournament then joined the winning team following the local qualifier to form the four-person teams. The team advancing to this year’s national championship from Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines is Ken Schall, Darin Ferguson, Collin Caffrey, and Jeff Rowe.
The Iowa Section PGA would like to thank RSM McGladrey for their continued support of this tournament. A huge thanks also goes out to Sean McCarty and his staff at Brown Deer Golf Club for hosting this event.

Wonderful tournament and huge purse to play for. Don’t understand why more golfers don’t play.
