P.A.T. Information

The Playing Ability Test (P.A.T.) is one of the initial steps an individual must take to become a Member of the PGA of America. It is no longer an entrance requirement into the PGA of America’s Professional Golf Management Program; however, it must be passed prior to attending a Level 3 Checkpoint and being elected to membership. The purpose of the P.A.T. is for individuals to demonstrate that they can play a credible game of golf by shooting a combined score which does not exceed a target score. For more information on the P.A.T. and entrance requirements into the Professional Golf Management Program log on to http://www.pgalinks.com

The PAT is conducted from the middle tees of the golf course with the flagsticks set on a generally flat area of the green. Although this sounds relatively simple, less than 20% of those taking the test achieve a passing score. If your game is marginal, it is highly recommended that you work diligently on improving prior to registering for the PAT.

To register by phone, please contact the Member Information Service Center (MISC) at 1-800-474-2776. To register online log on to http://www.pgalinks.com.
