The 2008 Iowa Junior Tour consists of over 60 events throughout Iowa and Western Illinois from June through mid-August. Members of the tour may play in any or all events that fit their summer schedule. Any boy or girl who is 18 years of age or under and have not entered college is eligible. Junior Tour members must be living (or vacationing) during the summer within the boundaries of the state of Iowa and/or Iowa Section PGA (Iowa or Western Illinois) to be eligible for the Iowa Junior Tour.

Player-of-the-Year awards are given to one boy and girl in each of the following age divisions: Boys 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18; and Girls 13 & Under, 14-15, 16-18. How the point totals are calculated will change for 2008.  The point totals will now be derived by adding the top six of the eight Major Point Events totals administered by the Iowa PGA and the top 5 highest point finishes in all other Junior Tour events played for each junior throughout the summer.   Junior Tour Player of the Year Award Winners are invited to attend and will be honored at the 2008 Iowa Section PGA Awards Luncheon.

If your birthdate falls between June 1, and August 12, 2008, you must declare which POY category you want to be eligible for.   If you choose the older age division, you must play in that division throughout the summer to accrue points in that division. If you choose the younger division you will accrue points in the that division until your birthday. You may then play in the older division for the remaining tournaments after your birthday, but will not accrue any additional player of the year points. For any additional clarification on Player of the Year Points please call Tess at 888-213-8265.
