2008 Iowa PGA Junior Tour Kick Off - June 6th, 2008

The 2008 Iowa PGA Junior Tour began the season at Copper Creek GC with its annual Kick Off on Friday, June 6 with 134 participants.  The course was a bit soggy, but the weather was warm and sunny for this first of eight Major events on the Iowa PGA Junior Tour.   Juniors ranging from 9-18 years of age both male and female were treated to a great tee gift of an umbrella (which hopefully they don’t they need this summer) courtesy of Brad Wuhs and Bridgestone Golf, sponsor of the 2008 Iowa PGA Junior Tour.  The Iowa PGA would like to thank Brad and Bridgestone for their support .  Also a special thanks to George Volger, Copper Creek GM and all his staff for hosting this event.  They did a great job getting the course ready even with all the rain this week.

    The kid that shot 71 really shot 71. My kid played with him. That was a great round in that wind. Let them use range finders- they don’t help. The only thing I object to is caddies. That offeres a significant advantage and has no place in junior golf.
