Sutton Wins Iowa PGA Assistant Player of the Year

Riverside, Iowa – Iowa PGA Associate, Davis Sutton has won the Iowa PGA 2019 Assistant Player of the Year award. Sutton accumulated 1,279.38 points on the year to win the Assistant Player of the Year.  Sutton and PGA Assistant Professional at Cedar Rapids Country Club.

“At the start of the season I set two major goals for myself from a playing aspect.” Sutton said. “First was to win the Iowa PGA Assistants Championship and go back to Pt. St. Lucie.  Second was to win the Assistant Player of the Year.  I was able to play some highly motivated golf this Fall and accomplish both of those goals.  I look forward to repeating both in 2020.”

Sutton played in 15 Iowa PGA events this season. He finished atop the Assistants leaderboard six times, including defending his Iowa Assistant PGA Professional Championship in 2019.  Sutton also played in the National Car Rental PGA Professional Championship where he made the cut and finished in a tie for 69th place.

In addition to Sutton’s victories in the Assistants Division, he finished inside the top-10 in the 14 events.  He was the Runner-up for Assistant Player of the Year Award race in 2018.
