Lawrence Wins NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars October Shootout-
Ankeny, Iowa – David Lawrence of Davenport Country Club wins the NB Golf Cars/M&M Golf Cars October Shootout Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Briarwood Golf Club. Lawrence turned in a 36-Hole total of 10-under-par, 65-69=134, in the last event on the Iowa PGA Schedule.
Iowa PGA Professionals competed in a 36-Hole Stroke Play with Open, Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
Lawrence wins the Open Division. Lawrence carded birdies on holes 2, 4, 10, 12 and 17 including bogeys on holes 8 and 9 in his final round Tuesday. There was a tie for second place at 7-under-par with Ben Montgomery of Airport National Golf Complex (73-64=137) and Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club (69-68=137).
Bryan Luedtke of Bunker Links Golf Course claimed first place in the Senior Division with a final round 2-under-par round of 70. His 2-day total was 3-under-par, 71-70=141. Luedtke carded birdies on holes 3, 9, 12, 15 and 18 including bogeys on holes 6, 8 and 13 in his final round. Runner-up Steve Smith of Hyperion Field Club turned in a 2-day total scores of 75-72=147, +3.
Ken Schall of Ken Schall Performance Studios claims first place in the Super Senior Division with a 4-over-par round of 76 on his final day. His 2-day total was 5-over-par, 73-76=149. Schall carded birdies on holes 3, 4 and 12; bogeys on holes 1, 5, 13, 15 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 6 in his final round. Life Member Gale Gilbert turned in a 2-day total scores of 77-73=150, +6.
