2023 PGA Winter Championship – Senior/Junior Team Round 1-
Riverside, Iowa –Five of our Iowa PGA Professionals are paired up as teams. Judd Gibb of Hanson’s Custom Golf and Darin Fisher of The Preserve on Rathbun Lake, Chad Proehl of Sugar Creek Golf Course and Jay Giannetto of Elmwood Country Club and Sean McCarty of Brown Deer Golf Club and his partner Benny Cook of Fort Pierce, Florida are competing in the Senior/Junior Team Championship at the PGA Golf Club in Pt. St. Lucie, Florida on January 30 – February 2, 2023. This is a one best ball of two Team Championship.
Proehl and Giannetto carded birdies on holes 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 13 and 15; an eagle on hole 16 including a bogey on hole 12 which placed them tied to 1st place after the first round of play. Proehl and Giannetto’s first round total 30-32=62, 10-under-par. Their tee time for Tuesday, January 31 on the Ryder Course at 9:46 AM.
McCarty and Cook carded birdies on holes 1, 5, 6, 8, 13, 15 and 17; bogey on hole 16 which placed them tied for 13th place after the first round of play. McCarty and Cook’s first round total 32-33=65, 6-under-par. Their tee time for Tuesday, January 31 on the Dye Course at 11:10 AM.
Gibb and Fisher carded birdies on holes 6, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15 and 18 which placed them tied for 13th place after the first round of play. Gibb and Fisher’s first round total 34-30=64, 7-under-par. Their tee time for Tuesday, January 31 on the Dye Course at 11:20 AM.
