2019 Iowa PGA Schedule Announced

FULL 2019 SCHEDULE

Riverside Iowa – The Iowa PGA has finalized its schedule for the 2019 season. The 2019 season will feature 36 events, including three season long events, and is highlighted by the 17th Annual Las Vegas Pro-Am, the Iowa PGA Professional Championship, the 86th Iowa Open, the Iowa PGA Senior Professional Championship, the Iowa Assistant PGA Professional Championship, the Iowa Cup Matches and the Iowa PGA Foundation Pro-Am.

The 2019 season begins in Las Vegas on February 18-20 with the 17th Annual Las Vegas Pro-Am presented by Adidas. Each round of this event will be played at a different course. The first round will be played at Cascata Golf Club, the second round will take place at Southern Highlands Golf Club and the final round will be played at Dragon Ridge Country Club. Each team will be made up of one Iowa PGA Professional and four amateurs. This event will follow an 18-hole team event quota system format. The team that accumulates the most points above their total quota will win the tournament.

The Iowa PGA has added more pro-pro events for the 2019 season. There are five pro-pro events on the 2019 schedule, including the Spring Meeting and Pro-Pro #1 sponsored by Under Armour on Monday, April 1 at the Brown Deer Golf Club. 
The Iowa PGA Professional Championship presented by Omega and Club Car will be held on July 22-23 at the Amana Colonies Golf Club. In addition to being the Section Championship, this tournament also serves as a National Qualifier for the 53rd PGA Professional Championship.

The 86th Iowa Open has been moved from a Wednesday-Friday tournament to a Friday-Sunday event, taking place August 2-4 at Blue Top Ridge in Riverside, Iowa.

The final two Section Championship and National Qualifier events are the Iowa PGA Senior Professional Championship, which takes place August 8-9 at Glynns Creek Golf Course, and the Iowa Assistant PGA Professional Championship, taking place September 3-4 at Blue Top Ridge. Qualifiers from these events will secure spots in the 31st Senior PGA Professional Championship and the 43rd National Car Rental PGA Professional Championship respectively.

The Iowa Cup Matches have been moved to September 26-27 at the Crow Valley Golf Club. This event features a team of Iowa PGA Professionals facing off against the Iowa Golf Association Amateurs competing in a Ryder Cup format.
Some other events returning in 2019 are the Junior Academy Stroke Play (June 18), the Junior Academy Senior Stroke Play (June 19), the Boy Scouts Pro-Am (June 24), the Iowa PGA Foundation Pro-Am (August 19) and Iowa PGA October Shootout (Sep 30 – Oct. 1).

In addition to the Iowa PGA events that will be held in 2019, the Iowa PGA will again be hosting PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions qualifiers. The Principal Charity Classic Pre-Qualifier will be held on Thursday, May 23 and the Open Qualifier will be on Monday, May 28 at the Tournament Club of Iowa. The first John Deere Classic Pre-Qualifier takes place Wednesday, July 3 at Pinnacle Country Club. The second John Deere Classic Pre-Qualifier will be on Friday, July 5 at Short Hills Country Club, with the Open Qualifier taking place on Monday, July 8 at Pinnacle Country Club.
